I already own a Nook Color, flashed with CyanogenMod 7, so I don't see the benefit in buying an Amazon Kindle. If I didn't have either one, it would be a tough call, because while the Kindle is cheaper and sporting the dual core processor, the Nook Color already has a very solid hacking community behind it to fully unlock the full potential of the tablet.

I think it will be really interesting to compare once the Nook Color 2 comes out.

That's the same reason I bought the Kindle DX when it first came out. Tablets will still too new for me and the Kindle satisfied my need for a reader.

Since then I have bought a Android tablet running Android 3.1 and with the Kindle app I have found it to be an excellent replacement for my Kindle with the exception I can't get blogs directed to the Kindle app.

What do you consider the advantages of an Amazon Kindle Fire when compared to an iPhone or iPad?

I would think price would be the biggest one. Some people also like smaller screen sizes. Finally, I imagine the Fire will eventually be rooted and made into a full Android tablet, which means you won't be locked into Apple's walled garden.

I'd like one but they're not available in Canada for the first run.
