I I second you on that as paid services are far more better and secured as compared ti the free ones. If you are looking for paid remote backup solutions then you are on the right track will less or no risk at all.

I have heard good things about Carbonite, and Mozy, which I've used personally--I'm not sure why you dislike their service.

Okay, that's a bad experience. Thanks for the details. I've only heard positive things so far - good to know.

I used the free mozy service before
i tried to use uniforce's ashey backup recently
it is a foreign provider, but the speed is acceptable
satisfactory with the service, but a little bit expensive

I use free Mozy and it is pretty good. No issues. No hassles. I also use other services too.

First you have to determine your needs. If, for example, your data requirements are under 2 Gigs, free is an option. If you have more than one PC you need to figure out how much storage each PC needs.

If it's more than 2 GB - you may have to consider paying a fee for the service.

Mozy has a good 2 GB free service (as shown from posts on this).

Check Online Backup Providers & Reviews of Online Backup Services to scope out a few different providers.

D4ce,
I would certainly checkout Novosoft remote backup service. They have free options, and as fo the price of 2 Gb it's only $4 per month or $40 per year. I think it is really moderate pricing for the ability to get my data from any where just from my browser.
I'm still undecided myself if I would choose Mozy or Novosoft Backup service but the latter seems like a nicer option. They also provide free software that does all the backing up stuff automatically, and a whole lot more things, like remote syncing, which is a must for me.
