Nothing, it's a good measure. But we're talking about remote backup--protecting our files beyond hard drives, computer failures, theft, natural disasters etc.
Pardon me for asking but what's wrong with the external hard drive?
mm whats wrong, in florida we suffer huricane and i have lost 2 external unit even with ups in hard crash as a result of lightning. online has become an alternative backup for those critical files in addition to have web access.
I am tried carbonite backup service. It is very easy to use. It installs a small application on your computer that works quietly in the background looking for new and changed files that need to be backed up. It automatically backs up your new and changed files. If you accidentally delete or otherwise lose files, it takes just a few clicks on your desktop to get them back. It does not slow your system.
There's been a lot of posts mentioning Mozy. The company that bought Mozy, EMC, has restructured the company somewhat by combining it with another to form Decho.
I like the new direction.
