Hey friends, Online backup is a common word for me, but i am bit confused the about this word

does it refer the providence of online software facility that are provided by different company? Please tell me what is online backup exactly? For a good suggestion thanks in advance

Online backup is a method of offsite data storage in which files, folders, or the entire contents of a hard drive are regularly backed up on a remote server or computer with a network connection.
