Online back up companies use state of the art security. Same as using a safe. Where you are the only one who can open it no matter what, not unless you give the combination to another individual. I use online back up too. Never again did I have a problem everytime my computer gets a virus. I can reformat my computer anytime and retrieve all my pictures, videos, music and important documents from the online back up server within minutes. I know I am secured because they have this special feature that syncs folders to the online back up server and it auto updates and auto uploads. How convenient is that? We can't simply rely on online backup coz the companies don't warn you before their server crashes or go bankrupt. So it is not always the best idea to store your data in the cloud.

It is secure as long as they use encryption and are using HTTPs on their members area.
