Relatively speaking, online backup service is safer than local backup. Although Local backup to external or optical drives is an excellent practice, but it can't always protect your precious data. There is no need to worry about the loss of files in your pc. They are very safe. I have used online backup for two years. I’ve never lost my files.

Well, theoretically it is safe but there is always a chance that something may go wrong and your data will be deleted. To be extra safe make sure you back up your data on your own server from time to time.

Extremly secure, houseed in carrier grade data centres.

Most data is excrypted before it leaves your home/office aswell meaning that the data held on the servers is pretty useless to anybody else
