I am using XP and Easy Backup.

The connection to the FTP is tested and OK.

But when I click on backup, it gives sort of a file in use or file locked error.

I set the user to admin rights and set off the security center and anti-virus. But it does not help.

Same problem with other backup software.

Any idea what it could be?

Which file is it failing on? Is it the same file each time?

I am not familiar with Easy Backup. Does it utilize Windows XP Volume Shadow Copy? If so it might be the VSS service has failed.

I had the same problem,i tried everything manually but nothing worked,i am using a tool for all such type of errors which is available at pathtoodeep.com which will solve your problem in a click

Hi.. Basically the more you ue the drive the greater chance there is that the computer will write over the old "deleted files", files don't actually get vanished.. This Forum site is good..
