Default Backblaze Online Backup

As an employee of Backblaze, I would like to tell you about our new service. Lot's of people know that backing up their photos, music and important documents is a good way to keep them safe. Yet most people still don't do backups. Why is that?
I think there are close to 80 companies that offer services for online backup, including companies like Mozy and Cabonite. And yet the majority of people do not backup.

At Backblaze we wanted to make it easy. We wanted this to be a backup service our parents would use. So we worked hard removing all the extra steps and time it takes to get a user installed and setup. The idea is to just backup everything, no questions asked. And to do it inexpensively for $5/Month ($50/year) for unlimited storage.

We are in public beta so you can take it for a spin. Because we are early, we are listening intently to any feedback our users have.

Thanks for your time.
You can try it out at: https://www.backblaze.com/

I looked at the site and there seems to be some good endorsement for the services.
I'll have to try it out.
Thanks for pointing it out.

caseyj,

How long is your trial period? I am thinking of reviewing online backup services on my blog,
Also, it would help if the prices were more clearly specified, for personal and small business plans. The only number I could find is $5/month. Is it personal use, unlimited storage?

Backblaze is a fine online backup service, but there are many services out there today and the one thing for sure is one size does not fit all. Some are better for Mac, others Windows, some business oriented others for the individual or small business users. Be sure to compare the online backup services out there before you choose the one you want to pay for.

What are the chances of the system failures in backblaze? Can you assure that the backup systems won't fail? What are the actions or security measures taken upon the failure and how the data is recovered?

Do you offer any redundancy in your service?
