Default Online Backup 101

I would like to introduce myself and Novastor to this forum, Novastor is a developer of online backup software with an extensive partner list and ranked on Online Backup Providers & Reviews of Online Backup Services as a top 25 provider. we have over 20 years of backup knowledge across several different areas.

If you have any questions about the concepts of online backup i will be happy to answer them in an unbiased form

I am not here to bash competitors or to sell anyone on Novastor, rather i am looking to expand my knowledge of the Market and hopefully help explain Online backup services, software, and concepts.

Thanks,

Jon

Welcome to the forum Jon. We'll be sure to tap your expertise on Online Backup Services and products.

What did you think about IBM's acquisition of Arsenal last week and EMC taking out Mozy earlier on?

I am unfamiliar with Arsenal, but the EMC acquisition of Mozy will be interesting. EMC acquired Dantz and had a tough time expanding on the customer base; though there are plans to revitalize it. Enterprise level companies have a tough time managing SMB or SOHO type backup customers. Mozy brings EMC down to a consumer level. so i am curious to see how things go. all in all Novastor hasnt been too affected by the disruptive online backup services out there.

EMC latest announcements didnt point to any new features in the product either.

Jon.

Good point. It's obviously a validation that this is a hot market and big companies want a piece of the action. I'm sure NovaStor is ready for the challenge from the competition.

I read the IBM/Arsenal story on the recommended reading section here:
