Yes it's hard to argue with such a good deal --250Gb for only $99/year.
Thanks for suggesting MemoPal.

Thumbs down Re: Who's using online backup services?

I started with Mozy a couple of weeks ago, but I have so many problems with unstable connection to this service. Actually I have asked them to refund my two years subscription and now I'm looking for a more professionel company. Anybody who can recommend (by own experience) a good and stable online backup service?

/Lars

I've heard some good things about Carbonite.
In fact Packard Bell is shipping PCs in Europe with the Carbonite online backup service bundled.

After the above complain about mozy I got some chat-support. The problem was a problem with the database. They fixed it and the online backup has admittedly worked well since.
Conclusion: I'm satisfied with mozy. If there is any problem with the back-up you can use their chat-support.

Online backup services use software that automates the uploading of selected files to a remote computer, and the ability to restore files, using your Internet connection. There are various services around offering storage capacities of just a few megabytes to several terabytes (a terabyte is 1000 gigabytes!). For an ongoing monthly fee dependant on the amount of data you wish to back up, other services (e.g. backup of system files), and / or number of computers you wish to have access to the service, you get a fixed amount of storage, and software to manage the backup process.

I'm using SugarSync, and loving it. It runs quietly in the background without taking resources away from other apps I have running at the time, to keep the backup files stored online in perfect copy of the ones on my hard drive. I won't go on and on about the features here, but if you're looking for solid backup with real-time sync, it's def worth checking out SugarSync.

SugarSync looks pretty good. Thanks for the post.
I notice they have a free 45 day free trial-I'll take a look.
