I researched a lot but found that all of the online backing up service work by downloading a software which backs up the local file to the online backup server.

What I actually need is the backup service to which I can directly backup the backup copy of my website. I don't want to first download the tared file to my computer and then upload again to a backup service.

Any suggestion?

I think they do their own backup but I want to do backup myself as well. It's not uncommon to see different hosting provider claiming to backup the data but when disaster hits they throw off their hands.

I think you should have a look at BAM!

This is a web based application manager that allows us to take backups of our applications on our own servers, create a working copy of it on a sub domain controlled by you, and also gives you the capability to revert an application to a pre existing backup.

Creating a working copy (otherwise called sandbox) can be synced with the live application whenever needed. This helps us first test out new features and then make them live.

All this is done through a simple web based interface. Try it out..

After all, how would I recover from a tornado or flood, if it destroyed my home and business? Computers can be replaced, but what about the data and files? After a quick search using the keywords 'online backup' and 'online storage' (without the quotes), I had a starting point for my research.
