Wink Hello

Hey Everyone,... My name is Steven. Just wanted to intro myself here as it looks like a very informative place to share about web design. I have been in the airbrush field and custom paint for a living for last 7 yrs but do to back problems moving into web design.

I have been playing around with drag and drop tools at homestead.com until recently and looking forward to learning more each day. I have the major drawing programs now and really excited bout web design and helping our local businesses grow with a new web presence. I must say designing from scratch is much more a chore than I ever dreamed.

I have been learning a lot at the web school online and finding that a real score. I just wanted to say hello and look forward to sharing with you guys.

Thanks,...Steven

I am new to the board also and when i first got into HTML my win 98 machine had front page express.(not sure of the version but it was old) The cool thing about it was color coding of the HTML and i would add a picture then look at the code, write text with different fonts and sizes and look at the code, and so on.
I only mention this because you didn't mention any HTML software you use. I have no experience with web schools or homestead so i dont know what your getting to see there. THere are freeware editors out there or there used to be i havent looked in a while. I know it helped me and really tweaked my interests. The other thing i did a lot of was "view source", you can find out a lot by reading other peoples code.
Best of luck in your internet ventures.

I am using Corel Draw for a drawing program and slicing the parts in Corel Photopaint to export into Adobe Dreamweaver to help build the code. Then ftp from there to publish the pages. This way I'm working with very little code but learning as I go.

Thanks for the help,... Steven
