IPv6 is it even there?

We are currently using IPv4 but I have seen support and reports about IPv6.
But have not seen people using it or networks supporting it.
Anyone heard anything about it?

I think unlike the old one this one will have 111.222.333.444.555.666 making it able to contain more combinations.
But are we really at a shortage of IP addresses??
