Asterix PBX on Linux Machine

Has anyone tried running Asterix the PBX system for Linux? Any pointers in choosing the right hardware and software is appreciated. I am planning to buy a machine specifically for the PBX setup and want to make sure I do the right thing. Thanks.

Asterisk is awesome. Any new pc will work great, but make sure you buy Digium hardware. The generic stuff works, but has echo problems sometimes. I find that the genuine Digium stuff works the best. I have run asterisk on all kinds of hardware, and I have had no problem with it. The faster the hardware, the more concurent coversaions can be piped through astersik. You will live it.
