If you can, switch- if you can't, wait for your software to come out on Linux :-)

There are some autocad programs for linux by the way..

hey guys - i am really interested in getting to understand a little bit more about linux and am going to put it on my PC some time today - i am a little bit of a n00b tho so i was wondering if anyone had any basic advice...

but in response - yea i a definitely think that linux will gain a lot of momentum in the future, simply because after i analyse the net it seems that the 'intended' democratic nature of the CYBER world lends it self to free and malleable concepts gaining popularity...i am of the opinion that as a mater of fact this is a bi-product of capitalism almost over extending itself...

Well Linux> Windows in many things, but the one thing it falls far behind in is compatibility. Once they get those issues done with, Linux will be the clear victor.

What is an operating system with no programs?
Nothing. In my eyes there is no point in having an operating system which is not compatible with anything. Luckily they are making tons and tons of stuff more compatible with Linux, and I must say I love the concept of Wine.

Linux with windows at the same time is the momentary solution, windows for compatibility, and Linux for everything else

What would be a good Linux version to dl with nice GUI? Comparable to Mac OSX. Gotta try with dual boot with Vista.

How do I go about installing Linux & Windows MCE to dual boot? I've read a couple tutorials but none of them seem to correspond with each other...
