Default Read windows partition

Okay - This is a two questions - sorry

1) I have an old pc that I first loaded windows 2k and partitioned for linux too. Everything seems to have loaded up fine. Now how do I read my windows partition?

2) How can I find out how much space I am using on my hard drive while in the linux side?

You can actually read your windows parition from Linux, but I don't think you can write on it though.

Give these a try at linux prompt:

1) read windows partition
Code:
mkdir /win; mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /win
2) disk space usage
Code:
df
check space a directory is using
Code:
du -s
cheers
