Program blocking?

Hello, is there a way to block out all transmiting of P2P software like Bit Torrent, eMule and WinMX etc etc? Do just block specific ports or must I disable other things? Also would like to know if I can prevent specific software from installing. Thanks for the help in this.

You can get a firewall and block specific ports or you can just set it in your IPchain
