Firstly is there much od a difference? I run mandrake but there are so many CentOS, RH, Fedora Core etc etc

There are also enterprise editions for Red Hat. Whats the difference anyway?

They all use different repositories (software availability). I use the popular ubuntu/debian distro which is fantastically easy to use.

Fedora Core is more like a newer desktop version of RH, enterprise editions for Red Hat is targeted for servers envirements.

My favorite Linux for personal use is probably Ubuntu, for servers I would choose Red Hat. Both are quite versatile and have many, many features.
I would use Linux more often if it were more compatible with more programs and software. But I am currently on a dual-boot Ubuntu/XP Pro with using the XP Pro most often
