Exclamation Question about computer radiation

First of all, one of the main questions is ,"Does the computer(the box itself, not monitor!) emits any radiation?". Whenever i go, people always talk only about monitors radiation, no word about computers(the box, tower).
Is It dangerous? Max, how long can you spend time at the computer? Is there any devices i could purchase to reduce or stop radiation flow for both monitor and computer? What else i can do to prevent any serious damages from computer, any excercising or maybe breaks? Any additional info or link are appreciated.

The moniter and PC itself does not emit radiation that can ultimately kill or damage you in any way. As long as you are not face-up in front and/or near the sides and back of the moniter you should be fine. They do have screens for moniters that reduces the radiation that it emits.

Look up: Radiation Shield + Moniter on google.

when I was a kid I had an old computer ( before the 386 and so came on the market ) I received it from my nephew.
After a phew years it was completely demolished and I ( +/- 12 years ) decided to open the monitor to see what inside. lol
But I didn't notice the monitor was still plugged in. Ones I came to close off it, i was sucked in to it like a small piece of paper in a vacuum cleaner.
I had to struggle for a phew 15 seconds and managed to deplug the monitor with my toes:-)
Don't know if other 12 year kids do that kind of stupid things but I did :-)

I believe : a montor ( crt ) creates a magnetic field ( even the cable who's connected to the network does ) and a magnetic field is not good for your health. Depending on how long and in what quantity it is present i think it might have a negative influence... but hey, who cares ???

You are exposed to so many things ( which aren't all visible ) and they represent much more danger ...

Ps: do not always believe 'the chiefs' when thay say it is harmless, they maybe won't be able to sell it if they say it is so... i wouldn't buy a tft if i knew it is twice as bad as a crt... the earthquake in japan that caused a radiactive leak , a phew days ago, doesn't represent any danger for us nor the planet... yeah right...

at last : don't worry ...you will eventualy die ;-)

Yeeeeaaaaahhhhhhh.... I don't wanna die yet lol! Plus, exposing yourself to radiation at your own house will defenetly shorten your life for about a few years.
How about LCD monitors, are they atleast a little bit more safer than CRT's?
How about PC(the box)?

If think tft is better because i think they don't create such a magnetic field but i'm not an expert on that ...google might give you the answer, it is a wellspoken subject
I ones read you should take a 15 minute break every 45 minutes ...

Every object emmits radiation : cellular phone, light, digital watch, ...that's what my teacher used to say. If you go to the dentist and he makes a x-ray of your teeth; that's also a radiation (different one)
But because you're only exposed to it ones in a year, it's not really dangerous. I don't know where you come from but here we have +/- 50 radio stations... Q-music/4fm,... they all cross my brain before they enter the radio ... radiation? dangerous?

Sitting a long time behind the computer isn't healty ... you get stressed, when you go to bed you can't sleep, ...

tip : computer is nice, a woman is better and in most cases less dangerous ..lol

Break helps excercising not :-) lol
The only thing which can help is preventing the radiation to enter your body so if you put 2 fingers in your nose it might help ... I love this topic lol you make me laugh

see ya

A guy I used to know, he's dead now, used to work every day at his computer facing a CRT monitor. He ended up with terminal throat cancer, and blamed it on the radiation from the screen. I don't know if it really was caused by the monitor, but I guess some people are more sensitive than others to radiation?
