I personally like the Medal of Honor games, if realism is what you like. But nothing beats Goldeneye for N64.

Oh, and Perfect Dark for xbox 360 I heard is decent.

For PC i have been stuck on Battle Field 2, i cant get enough of it and i still enjoy tactical ops

If you want realism and some gta in it you must try Boiling Point(rpg+fps) it's a bit buggy so you must instal the final patch but it deserves your atention it's a adictive game.Far Cry is good if you liked splinter cell you may try thieft deadly shodows . If you liked gta delenetly must play Mafia if you haven't it's a bit old but stil beats titles like the godfather an in my opinion better grafic trust me i played over 1000 games and finished all

Even though you do not like unrealistic FPS's I'd strongly recommend FEAR, brilliant game.

As far as real goes, I'm a big fan of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown. But I don't know if you'd be into that, as that is FPS and tactical.

I think Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike is even better, but you said FPS, and that's third person. Although you did mention you liked Splinter Cell and GTA, and those are third person too...

I still think the best FPS of all time is _The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay_. It's mostly realistic, except for the fact that it is set in the distant future and that there is one breed of mutants that you have to fight. hehe

But I don't think the game ever gets cheesy or silly with its fiction.

Gotta love old Counter-Stike I miss that game =). Battlefield 2 and Black are awesome newer first person shooters and bother very different. I’m just playing Final Fantasy DOC right now and its really kewl but not to realistic. Interesting change to the FF7 games only on chapter4 hope it gets lil better.
