Call of Duty is a good one. Takes place in world war II and stuff like that.

i loved splinter cell though it's not a fps

Soldier of fortune 2...... LoL.
It's an oldie, dead and not very popular, but I love it. Also, Bf2 is ok, and f.e.a.r as well.....but sof2 hands down.

I got adicted to Diablo II at one time (not sure that it's always a "shooter" game though, but it can be with some characters). In the end I cut up the CD, then a few months later I bought it again, and ended up cutting that one up too!

Call of Duty (1, UO, 2) are my favorites.
Also Medal of Honor, Doom, Brothers in Arms, Hexen XD, Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

dont know if anyone said but the game FEAR is rocking, slightly unrealistic but really fun and draws you in
