making a site

i like to make a site something like this one where you can post on threads attach pic.s and PM ppl what kind of program do i need i have a sever that i can use i tryed msn. groups but the folks in the forum found it hard to do any ideals ? oh by the way i don't know sh*& about any of this

You just need a web hosting account and then install a forum software and then you are good to go

i got the web hosting account but what do you suggest for software . if you were to take a look at harleychatgroup.com you would see exactley what i am looking for.

theres a free forum software done in PHBB...or if you have a budget for your forum you can buy VB bulletin for better customize forum

If you are really starting out I suggest phpBB as its free.
Pay for a commercial one when you know the ropes a little more.

phpBB can get unstable and need of constant monitoring if you have a very very large forum. Like ten thousand members. But most of us never even reach that limit unless we have thousands of dollars to promote it :P

yes my site will be only about 100 members or so , so i should be ok there
