What is your opinion on the Simple Machines Forum script???

I asked around and some people say the database design is pretty fast, but hey nothing sure beats free!

Personally I like Invision, but for free you can go better than SMF.

I hate SMF. Why? Because of phpBB. They have set the standard in free forum software and thats who gets my vote on this matter.

phpBB is totally overrated in my opinion. Really, what is so good about it? It's free so heaps of people use it. Why not be unique and use something different?

I 110% agree with that. Why be boring and do the same as everyone else. Be unique and try some other software! Even stuff like IkonBoard.

Being boring and the same ensures us that when there are problems, its almost certain that someone else has it and already have a solution.

Being unique has its dangers too.

I prefer the conventional 3 main forums.
SMF looks promising though, but maybe when its a more mature product before I actually use it to run an actual site.
