The price of gas just seems to be rising...last week it rose nearly twenty cents a day where I'm at, here in Illinois. Currently it's about $3.20 - $3.30 ( ) a gallon, which is pretty high. But from what I'm hearing it's much higher in other areas, so I guess I'm lucky.

What about anyone else? What are your gas prices where you live and how swiftly have they been climbing?

Hurrican Katrina might be having some effect on this...what do you think? hmm... I found this old book yesterday called "The coming Economic Earthquake" The dates are different, but it's pretty much the same...

I feel your pain, it has spiked to an average of $3.59 for regular here in Baltimore. It has risen over a dollar in the last 3 weeks. I guess everything from a stamp to groceries will soon follow. Hummm wonder where it will top out and even worse it seems once the prices go up the hardly ever come back down.

Well it's about $3.39 here. But the thing is, I keep hearing rumors of it going up to seven or eight bucks. That would be horrifying. It wouldn't be worth going to work/school/anywhere. That would truly make an economic breakdown right there. I can't even imagine...

It sort of makes me want to buy a car that's easy on gas (well, it does make me). I wish I could just get around on a bike though. That would save loads of cash...

I've also heard it extremely high in the UK. Anyone from there?

Yeah count me on too.... that oil price hike has affected our economy....I mean everyrthing, a price hike in the basic commodities and even electric bill has gone up....
When will this crisis stop!!!

Prices here in New Zealand are getting worse and worse by the day! Now it is up to $1.56 per litre :O

In the UK they are at the historic £1 level that's a 20p increase from 0.80 that they were at previously. ( £1 = $2 USA 0.80 = $1.60 USA)

Shocking. The oil companes are just scaremongering beause of new orleans. No one is going to tell me that one port in the USA is affacting the distribution of petrol to britain as we are in a different part of the Fu*king world.
