I am trying to find out how to make the area around a text link clickable. If anybody knows how to do it in dreamweaver please post, or if you know a link to a tutorial.

I figured this one out.

In dreamweaver just another another css style to your list of links like this
.mainlinks
.mainlinks a:link
.mainlinks a:visited
.mainlinks a:active
.mainlinks a:hover

.mainlinks a (this is what you need to add)

then just add some padding in the css settings under box.
