Default I need a robot

Hi
I am new here, so please move this thread if it is in the wrong place. I can't find what I am looking for in searches possibly because I am lacking a technical name.

I want a robot that can check a customer's url. So if someone enters their site address on a form and submits, the robot will check the url and come back with information such as: the size of the site, the density of h1, h2, p etc, number of pages etc.

I have a feeling that this will be a job for a hired pro, but, I thought I would check to see if anyone knew of such a thing already in existence.

Thanks in advance

There are tools that would do that and more. Some will even download and reassemble the entire site for you (sitegraber.... They do have to be used legally meaning that you cant just steal a web site. (;

Some tools will check for broken links (weblink validator) some will check how many pages are indexed and how well it would place on search engines. You would also know wich search engine indexed your site. Those spiders dont always work the way we would want them to.

It could also be to obtain a report of the possible optimisation possible for your site (you always have to take some and leave some as they are rarely unbiased)

I would think that one of these could be good and give you the info you are after even if they are made to do much more.

You could also program some kind of sniffer or cookie that would trap that info so you could get to it and a thousand more ways to do it. Most of the time it's a simple question of getting to the source...

Ciao.

Thanks Netridge
These are really useful, but I need something that I can host on my server to check other people's sites.

Maybe iOpus, with the iMacros 5, could do the things you want. It seems they also have a custom macro and script creation service.
