I think ultimately the decision of wether to go with stream vs flash is up to you... I not sure how your skills are, so I couldnt give you an opinion.

As for the streaming, you could always just cut the song so that it plays half the songs. That way when you stream it, if by some miracle somebody tries to download the song, they will only get a clib... not the whole thing.
I suggest you search on google, download.com, pcworld.com... you will find some good articles on streaming music.

As for the flash... I havent messed with flash yet,

yeah i might just aquire a free flash player and use that, but then i loose something else ahhhhhh i dunno,

You really can do the embedding thing. You can embed windows media so that it plays, but doesn't offer a download link.

Have each link from the discography page open a tiny page with some pic and the embedded player in a new window.

Then embed the song the same way people do it in their web pages, one tiny page for each song, with an ad or some art or something for people to see while they listen.

A determined individual may be able to scan your source and download it directly, but most won't. And there are ways to hide that, too. Windows media embedding gets you to about what, 80% of the web right now?

I've never looked at embedded flash players, so I don't know how easy that is. But it probably gets you that other 20%.

I have this same dilemma, I make/sell stock audio, and decided to go with flash as it's most secure for me

Check it out Royalty Free Music Audio - professional stock sounds, free beats, free loops, sample effects.. Trust me royalty free audio is precious and I would hate for ppl to hack my mp3's/swfs etc. There's never really a way to protect yourself, if you have a sound card you can record anything from any device, but you can at least limit the fraud. Go with Flash imo.
