Ok so I'm very new to html and I have a working flash .swf running on myserver and it plays .flv on my server. (JW Player I believe) I only have it playing small files right now but i was wondering if it loaded the whole file or if it loaded as it played like youtube?

Also...
I will have it play old VHS tapes i recorded to my pc. I'm the only one that will use it and I wont hand out the URL or anything is that legal? or is their a simple way to protect it?

Any help will be extremely helpful!

most playes will load it all in your temp folder.

If you will password protect then try look for a javascript pasword script

you can play vhs tapes no problem. For bigger swf or flv files, it should load like youtube only.

I saw html 5 has video tag that helps easily embed videos on the site. You might want to do a search for the procedure to do it.

HTML 5 video is one of the best options available for your need. One can even load VHS Tapes using HTML5 and hence it is recommended.
