Anyone here like to go fishing? What about boat riding? Running trotlines? I like to go catfishing, perch fishing, and bass fishing.
There is nothing like going out on the river, or going to a local lake and doing some fishing, its about as close to nature as you can get.
A couple of months ago I set out some trotlines and some jug lines. I caught a couple of catfish, buy only 1 was big enough to keep.
I found a couple of the juglines about a 1/4 mile down the river. A channel cat had got on the line in a slough, and from the slough the catfish headed out to the main river channel.
Back in december of 2010 a buddy of mine and went on a 3 day camping trip on the local river, and the fish were biting.
As soon as the hook hit the water, a catfish would grab the bait. During the course of a couple of hours we probably caught well over a dozen fish. The bad thing was, all of the fish were too small to keep. We were not fishing for food anyway. Everything we caught we were going to throw back.
One of the problems with bass fishing is the mercury content. Certain lakes in Texas have a mercury warning posted.
