the mobile phone only domain .mobi is being released this tuesday. godaddy.com is offering to pre-register your domain for like $30/yr.

I heard that in may 2006 there's another mobile domain name coming out - .tel

apparently there's now more mobile phones than tvs, so it seems like a decent investment to get a good domain name.

The $30/yr seems kind of high compared to other TLD. I wonder how long it will take for it to catch on? I bet it takes several years.

.mobi's really taking off actually. Two of the highest domain-name sell-offs for the year were .mobi domains.
It might be worth investing in. GoDaddy's got good .mobi packages and Hostway's started supporting them.
