Default Whois protection?

When you register domains, do you buy whois guard/protection as well?

Some registrars offer it for free, and when there is such a promo, I take advantage of it. But otherwise, I don't really bother to pay extra for this service. I know my address and email are open for public viewing (and spam), but I am too stingy to pay for it, I guess.

well i have different opinion ...

yes i does not buy it but the reason why i does not buy it because i usually buy and sell domains and if i hide my whois how will a seller suppose to contact me ?? so i just let my whois be and get spam and end-user offers

I don't care anymore about whois protection.

I have read somewhere that the people can evetually find out about the domain owner.

So What is it needed for.

The best service in the market against people knowing your identity is to use:

domainsbyproxy dot com

Check it out. I use it and so far I have not been bothered at all.

Good luck!

For me it depends if it is a business site or not. If it is for an online business, then I use public registration. If I am doing a get quick rich scheme, then I will use private registration.

I also like domains by proxy.
