Default Renewal of Domain Name and Hosting billing question

I asked this on another website, but would also like your opinions:

I've made a few personal websites for my husband and for our small companies. In doing so, I've had no problem keeping up with the renewals of domain names and hosting packages.

Since then, I've been asked to do a comprehensive website for a church who is currently on a month-to-month hosting plan with yahoo.

I've been requested to seek another host (since there are so many out there who are reputable). Once this is done, I'd like to transfer their domain name as well.

My issue is that I don't want to use my personal credit card to pay for the hosting nor do I want to be responsible for the renewal of the domain name and renewal hosting when I'm done with the project.

I'm curious as to how you all suggest this be handled. The church is pretty clueless about the whole domain name, hosting, web design culture, so I want to make it as easy for them as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Jan

So how is the church currently running to pay with Yahoo? Imho, the best way is continuing what they are used to be, but with the different provider (after you finish your project).

Why not open a paypal account in the name of the church from the very start and ask for anyone in the position to have it connected to their credit or debit card so they will be the one who will be charged for the renewal. It would also help that email adds and other pertinent data that you will use to sign in is not yours but of the church personnel.

pramudyawirawan: I believe the church secretary (whom is not my project contact) is currently the person responsible.

jaydee: That's a very good idea!

Thanks, folks! I really appreciate your opinions.
