Default Re: how easy to transfer domain name?

1. Verify your website is functioning properly on our servers using the IP address.
2. Verify your email accounts are setup correctly using the webmail address in your setup email.
3. Verify a DNS zone has been configured for your domain name on our name servers.
4. Perform a whois lookup on your domain name.
5. Verify your domain name is pointing to our name servers. If it is not, repoint your domain name to new hosting company name servers. This will take 24 - 72 hours to propagate.
6. Verify you have access to the email address listed as the administrative contact. If not, you will need to have your current registrar update this email address.
7. Allow the appropriate time for any propagation or updates to your domain name to occur.
8. Contact your registrar to unlock your domain.
9. Contact new hosting firm support staff to initiate the transfer.
