Default Registrar & hosting combined good or bad?

I am thinking of getting two new domain names for my accounting business. I am thinking of going with godaddy.com because they are very popular. I noticed they offer hosting plans. Since I will probably go with them for the domain names is it best that I let them do the hosting for these domains?

don't think that just because you have got hosting with a company it is easier or better to uy domain names from them. Make sure you get the best deals possible. If they can offer you good hosting and a reasonably priced domain name then go for it, otherwise get the domain name cheaper elsewhere.

Godaddy are good....but that does not mean that you have to host with them..shop around..the Hosting business is so saturated..you've bound to find a better deal

I would say find an expert, not someone who does it ASWELL. Buy a domain at a site based on that. Buy hosting on a site based on hosting sales only! this will increase your support!

In my opinion, it's a good thing. I have done that with my site.

I agree. I once thought it would be a good idea to start up a hosting company until I saw all the others that are out there (and how many there were). You are bound to find a great deal somewhere that will suite your need perfectly with a great price. It just takes time to look around out the different deals.

Bad bad bad thing to do...
If your hosting company goes you are tied to them... Separate it out would be better.
Get a very reliable domain host and then just purchase the hosting from another.

It could be a good one if your host is reliable, but if not you should have your own domain name unless the terms and conditions states otherwise.
I had a friend that told me that there was a free host that would only host your domain for free if that domain is registered under them....

I think its a very bad bad thing to do. You should always have a seperate domain registar to a hosting registar, I personally believe that if a company has a domain and hosting registar, then they dont really focus on doing a certain job and therefore some points of the hosting or domain control could be weak.
