Default MS Excel Spreadsheet as online form

Hey guys, I apologize I know it's not technically a database but I didn't feel this should go in the HTML section either. Please notify me if I should move to a separate area.

I have an excel 2007 spreadsheet that I use to keep up with inventory and closing numbers. I would like to post this on my website and let my employees fill out the numbers and it auto email itself to me as a spreadsheet.

Is this possible? If yes any information on how will be greatly appreciated.

I can provide the spreadsheet if need be just ask

I think you will need to create a php page for and a database, then set it up so the info pulls out from the databse to a spreadsheet. I dont think there is a way of putting a live ms excel spreadsheet up.

You can try using microsoft skydrive, its free, i think it allows you to share and edit ms documents.

I think you could use Google Documents collaboration feature where you can post your excel file and choose people who can save and edit data on it.

It's possible - and about as easy as scratching your left elbow with your left hand without breaking your left arm. You just have to write a web-based spreadsheet program. (That's like saying that to pick up all the diamonds on the moon, you "just" have to go to the moon.)

The easiest way to do what you want is as kash said, use a PHP page to allow them to enter data to a database. Then you can use PEAR's Excel library to create a spreadsheet from the database and have it emailed to you, or just go up on the site and ask the page with the PEAR code to send the spreadsheet. It'll send it as a file, which you can view or save, however you have your browser set up for .xls files. (Or you get a popup asking you which you want to do. It all depends on how you have your browser set up. the default is the popup.)
