Default Migrating from Access to MySQL

Microsoft Access is a popular data management application that allows you to store information in tables that it manages directly from the local disk.

But still people finds a lot of reason for migrating to MySQL. The MySQL database system is one such storage manager; if you install the MyODBC driver, Access can make ODBC connections to MySQL database servers over the network. You can still use the contents of your tables through Access, but the tables themselves are hosted by the MySQL server.

If you are facing any trouble in migrating, I hope the following content will prove useful to you ..

Migrating is a highly complicated aspect. but migrating from MS Access to MySQL will not be much of a problem as MS Access has essentially much less datatypes than MySQL. However, migrating from MySQL to MS Access will lead to a huge loss/change in database schema. Hence during database design a programmer must take into account adaptability/ future migration issues as often migration often includes schema changes to extract the full use of the destination database
