Okay, beginner here. Can someone tell me how I can get a "mySQL"? I need a personalized message board that I can place my own adsense ads on. Currently I have a free message board but lately a huge ad pops up and it's hard to get out of it to view the message board. No one is posting now. It's awful.

Do I need to sign up with a host to get mySQL? I currently use free AOL and route my site over to a godaddy.com domain name.

Yes, you would need to find a host that supports MySQL.

I know certain companie's that will host basic forums for only $2 a month.....

Most free hosting websites have a lot of ads on them, that's why they're free!

Look into purchasing a shared hosting service. You should be allowed minimum 100 SQL connectins at once,which will be enough IMO.
That way you will be able to avoid those nasty pop ups that drive people crazy
