Just wondering how often you guys get a whole new pc. I usually go with dell and get a new system every 2-3 years. My current system is dell inspiron|5100 2.8gh 512 ram and it's about 1.5 years old now, Am I behind the technology

My personal policy is, "If it works for you, you are not behind time "
You can't really keep up with technology though and its damn expensive too.

If you are asking me, yes you are behind as they now use Dual Corre processors and can have up to 4GB of ram.

i agree with cristobal, as long as it works with you well and yuo can do the things they can do with the latest tech, you are not behind.

You can't keep up with computer tech.. It would virtually mean changing one every month to stay on track which is too costly to consider.

I probably go every 3-4 years between whole new systems. Other then that I just do the usual add-on's over time, memory peripherals etc.. You are probably okay for the short term.

What I am waiting now for is Longhorn and for the Dual Core processor market to stablize and take over.
Then I will buy a single processor at much cheaper rates
