Hey Web how much black hat can you do before getting banned from Search Engines, and once banned how long does it take to come back???

Well in 6 years I have never had a site banned, if cloaking is done properly it is undetectable.If some one does get banned, they would just dump the domain and strat with a new one.Typically ppl dont just do one cloak they do networks of them like 4 sites and up.User believe bots are alot smarter then they actually are, when you start out in cloaking its always best to focus on targetting MSN and Yahoo first, google deals with to many off page factors to begin with

What exactly is cloaking, I am starting to re-develop a clients site and im starting to put text in as a spacer and making the text the same color as the background. is this bad practice??? and how would i Dump a domain????? the domain i am using i want to keep.

cloaking is redirecting the crawlers to content themed relevant pages and human vistors to the normal website.You never want to cloak your main domain offering incase of a chance of ban, personally I have been doing this for 6 years now and never had a site banned, but if you do it incorrectly you may run that risk

what you ae doing with hidden text is spam and easily found out, I wouldnt recommend that.

I suggest you purchase domains that are similiar to your main site offering, for example if you sell blue widgets and you main site is DO NOT cloak that one instead user pointer domains like

w ww.bluewidgets.info

w ww.blue0widgets.com

w ww.new-bluewidgets.info

w ww.widgetsblue.com

Install the cloaks on those and point real users to the w ww.bluewidgets.com

Ok so i would make the www.blue0widgets.com the same as bluewidgets.com but how would i send the crawler one way and the visitors another???

Redirects depend on how the srcript is written,for example

meta refresh dosent work

user agent is spoofable

javascript redirects are bad

"hello we have moved click this link" doesnt work....

You need a real delivery system, plain and simple, no spam, good content feed with proper rotation.
