Secure? Its one of the most exploited webserver OS around ( since everyone uses it )
Its like Windows for the Desktop, since its more widely uses.

I would recommend RH9 or FC ( Redhat or Fedora Core)
Others like Mandrake or CentOS are good too

Its more of a personal thing really.
