Blogging is probably the most underated method for company promotion but has the greatest potential. More links don't mean a thing if your competitor has as many as you, and you have to ensure that you link to sites with an equal page rank as your own in order to secure a higher search engine ranking.

Blogging gets you:
1 - Consistent traffic
2 - A new, wider audience
3 - Viral marketing potential
4 - Keyword sensitive content = google ranking
5 - Brand awareness
6 - CRM (customer relationship management)
7 - Even more opportunties for linking
9 - Dynamic website with more potential for Google ranking than a static website
10 - One-to-many communication medium
