Well.... I didn't want to get into esthetics.... but they *are* fricken sleek looking, eh?... Not at all like those Maxtor cases.... If you are into having nice looking hardware on your desk.... these are very sweet looking drives.... small foot print, minimalist case, reliable drive with both USB and Firewire....cool.... and they're noticibly quieter than my Western Digital....
If you don't particularly care what it looks like, the Maxtor (or whatever) will definitely give you more gigs for your money....
