For a "constant downloader"..... how much money do you want to spend?....

since it sounds as though you just need the drive for storage --as opposed to producing video's, running a network server, whatever.... Maybe RPM's are less important than size..... Bigger slower may be cheaper than faster smaller? I dunno.... until it comes to burning images.

I have a couple of 6 month old external "LaCie 250gigs" on my desk..... they run 24/7.... The Porshe case looks very sleek, they have a quite 7200rpm drive in them, USB and firewire connectivity... and they cost about US.$130.00.... So far.... no problems....

I also have a 120gig 7200rpm Western Digital external... It's a few years old now... but never a problem

Drives are so cheap right now..... getting a drive with 80 less gigs, and saving $30-40.00 doesn't make sense to me
