Default Re: Web developer salary

I see, there are a few ways that you could find out.

Try salary.com, imo, they are not all that accurate or I'm just working in the wrong places.

Or basically, give the "I'm a student and doing a research about salary schedule...." speech, some businesses don't mind becuase as long as you ask their permission to put their name in your paper, it's a free ad for them, but some business owners doesn't like that, specially smaller business, theydo not like to release any of their salary information. You might also want to let the people you are talking to that you don't need the exact number, just get a ball park to give yourself some idea.

To make sure we understand what you are really looking for...
Web Design usually involve more graphics than programming....
Web Developers are the other way around.

Here in the midwest, I've seen web designer make anywhere from lower 30k to 70k per year and web developers make around 40k to 160k per year in the past 10 years. Of course, the guy who made 160k/year was before the burst. The higher salaries web developers are usually the backend programmers, they might also have different titles like Software Engineer, Application/System Analyst, Web Artichtect and etc. Hope this help
