I do not think there is a good alernative to cpanel.
I have used them all, hsphere, plesk, blah blah blah, they all sux in my honest opinion. None of them hold water to the capablitys that cpanel offers, or the stability either. Granted cpanel is not as pretty looking as some of the others, but cpanel will always be my choice.
